The Story of American Chocolate Company
|
|
Stacy Hankinson, primed as a professional from the start began her career by working in the headquarters of two Fortune 500 companies; The Walt Disney Company and BellSouth among other small businesses. Of course, she felt that she experienced the corporate limelight while working at Disney. She was able to meet and work with several impressive corporate leaders and talented artists. She worked on strategic acquisition projects and on feature animated films, such as Aladdin and Lion King. And while at BellSouth, she was able to satisfy her wanderlust while working on international cellular build outs in Latin American countries. Once she accepted a position at BellSouth Marketing e-commerce, she found herself questioning, why was she working in Corporate America? She felt the need to fulfill her entrepreneur and creative outlet and began that quest.
So when she married (which was late in life according to most), and once she and her husband decided to have children, she agreed to stay at home to raise their children. It was very important to both of them that they were a major part of their children’s everyday life and that they would be raising them instead of outside childcare. That was five years ago.
Now, and two boys later, they’ve been helping out in the family owned business. This company, Phoenix Amusements, offers interactive game rentals for special and corporate events. Stacy has been able to contribute her planning and creative abilities to grow this company as the Trade Show & Marketing Director. In that capacity, she has been responsible for branding the games for corporate events among other duties. In other words, she designs and produces the graphics. In doing this, she attended several tradeshows in search of better media and print solutions. That’s when she found this technology that enables printing full color onto chocolate.
Stacy began to research the industry and the manufacturer to make sure this was a good investment. She figured since she was a work-alcoholic and would work long hours at someone else’s company, why not do it for herself and her family. And when she tasted the product, she was sold! Awesome chocolate and unbelievable clarity in the printing! She saw the opportunity to use her varied background and to be able to be with her children. (Not to mention, that she loves chocolate!) It’s such a unique and untapped product that she wanted to be involved on the front end. And thus, American Chocolate Company was created!
